Located in the heart of the “Golden Triangle”, in the swanky 8th arrondissement in Paris, La Villa is a restaurant, cocktail and piano bar located near the Arc de Triomphe, in a house once owned by art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel, who filled it with impressionist art pieces.

After numerous attempts by former proprietors to transform the old school charm of this historic establishment, to no great avail, the latest attempt appears to be the best one. The proven success of their prior ventures, the Café Chic and the Le Magnifique, prompted the charismatic couple Julie and Olivier Demarle, accompanied by the veteran night-owl Addy Bakhtiar, Le Milliardaire, Le Showcase et Régine, to succeed where others have failed. The ideal location, apparently not enough in itself to guarantee a loyal following, is currently coupled with the two elements that are an absolute must for creating a modern dining sensation…a contemporary and chic look and an exquisite food.

Talking about the exquisite food and the ambiance, I can say it could not have been better! Last time I went I had a very delicate “Souris d’Agneau confite” (Lamb) which was delicious. The cuisine at La Villa is based upon a traditional French Mediterranean recipe inspired with various world accents. The young chef, Pierre-Thomas Clément, fresh from the workshops of the master Joel Rubuchon in London and in Paris, prepares a selection of meals with charm and perhaps a bit of timidity. Originality is not the order of the day, but rather a fine meal designed to reassure the connoisseurs.

In terms of the décor, the space is very chic and romantic. Art pieces adorn the beautiful walls while a lovely piano is the center of attraction at the bar. The restaurant’s space extends to the winter garden, adorned with a vegetal fresco drawn by artist Cyprien Chabert, that looks out onto the Avenue de Friedland and the powder pink boudoir provides an intimate space for creative coupling. The combination of restaurant, cocktail bar and club generates the chameleon effect so admired by the see and be seen crowd. There’s even a smoking room, or ‘fumoir’, for those who haven’t managed to give up the vice.

La Villa restaurant, cocktail and piano bar is the perfect place to linger while you watch the star-studded parade of beautiful people in one of Paris’ most desirable districts. Contact your luxury concierge Pure Conciergerie for the best addresses and to arrange your stay in Paris.
