Romeo y Julieta is the name of two brands of premium cigar, one produced on the island of Cuba and the other in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Developed in 1875 by Inocencio Alvarez and Mannin Garcia, this brand immediately showed its quality by winning gold medals in four universal expositions between 1885 and 1900. But it really took off after its acquisition in 1903 by Jose Rodriguez Fernandez, known as “Pepin.”

The Romeo y Julieta Duke was the most awaited edicion limitada of 2009. With the other two vitolas of the series being slightly too small for limitadas, it has attracted the most interest. The Duke is the 7th vitola from the company to be featured in the limited edition series. It is a Robusto Extra, measuring a generous 140 x 54 ring gauge, slightly shorter that a Sublime but rich in definition. This new size will be delighting the senses of the true Habanos lovers in a delicate combination of passion and excellence. The 2009 Duke Edición Limitada distinguishes itself for the careful selection of two-year aged selected tobacco leaves (wrapper, binder and filler), which turns this product into something very special.
