I couldn’t agree more when I read that the best shoes are pointy; here when I mean pointy I am definitely NOT talking about those squared, stitched, elongated shoes (not my style). The first time you try on a pair of cockroach killers, you think you look slightly ridiculous, like an 18th-century courtier, or an elf. But here’s the thing: While you may feel ridiculous, you will look right. Snub-nosed shoes visually shorten your foot, which shortens your whole bottom half, which shortens your body. You end up looking like an elephant’s leg from the waist down. Shoes with a more narrow shape and a pointy toe box give the illusion of length and provide balance and proportion. You’ll get used to them very quickly. Hearing “I love your shoes” from a woman will speed up the process. The new trend in men’s footwear is definitely designer pointy shoes; have a look at some of the selection from Santoni, Prada, Gucci to Salvatore Ferragamo.
