I am an absolute fan of Hermès fragrances; they have this very unique scent that leaves a long lasting impression even when you’re gone! Few months ago, I wrote about the exceptional Terre d’Hermès fragrance I bought while in Europe. This time, Hermès‘ exclusive in-house perfumer Jean Claude Ellena recreates a mystery perfume to share for both men and women.

Voyage d’Hermès is an incredible voyage through the body of work of perfumer Jean Claude himself, but also into the world of the house of Hermès as an entity! At the early stage, the fragrance is lively and reassuring, new and familiar, a feeling of dejà-vu. You’ll very much love the opening green-ish citrus, rather dry and very tart and the dose of black pepper (a bit similar to Terre d’Hermès), green tea, ginger and a hint of lemon grass. As the perfume progressively comes to life on your skin, it develops into a woody fresh, musky scent. Few hours later, you’ll still appreciate its very good sillage and ultra expensive smell. What I love about this eau de toilette is its changing character; indeed, Voyage is the type of fragrance that says out-of-the-shower, expensive trousers and designer white shirt or a timeless classic three piece suits for formal occasions. In other words, Voyage is perfect whether its for an afternoon on a boat, a night in town with your other half or a formal affair.

In terms of the bottle design, designer Philippe Mouquet created a pure Hermès masterpiece. The design is reminiscent of a USB memory card that swivels out and around the base with a shiny silver material that protects the cap. One of the great features (in my sense) of this design is the refillable bottle. Hermès Voyage d’Hermès is available in 35 ml and 100 ml refillable Eau de Toilette spray and in 125 ml refill bottle.

On the advertising print and video campaign, two animals are featured: a horse and a dove, in full race and flying above between sky and water, evoking freedom. The first one is a reference to the original specialty of Hermès as a saddle-maker and the masculine side of the scent while the second is meant to embody the feminine element in the perfume. Hermès has not yet released a list of notes but the house is describing this unisex fragrance with accentuated aromas of fresh wood and musk.

Hermès Voyage d’Hermès is a must have in your closet; this fragrance is absolutely driving crazy my other half and I’m sure it will do the same for you…Definitely one of my favorites now.
