Leica, a German camera and optic manufacturer has unveiled its first compact superzoom digital camera: the Leica V-Lux 20. The new Leica V-Lux 20 is the perfect tool with which to capture those wonderful moments in life as high quality pictures. The camera features a versatile 12× zoom lens with an enormous focal range from 25 to 300 mm, a built-in GPS tagging, a powerful flash, a resolution of twelve point one megapixels with autofocus and a 16:9 format for both still images and high definition movies. Sporting a matte-black finish, this digital camera is accompanied by a 1/2.33″ CCD sensor, 720p/60fps Motion JPEG video recording capability, a 460,000 pixel 3″ LCD display, 11-point AF and SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card compatibility amongst other things.

In terms of pricing still, the V-Lux 20 will be sold in the UK for £495 ($761). At the moment, there’s no note on when it will be released in the United States and for what price. However, we’ve heard some rumors that Leica had predicted the US price point to be around $599. So let’s wait and see…

Based on the Panasonic ZS7 (quite identical) but with extensive features, the new Leica V-Lux 20 digital camera is a camera for people who appreciate quality and love to own and use something special. This is going to be the perfect companion to have around wherever you happen to be.
