You’ve been craving an Amaretto Sour lately and you even purchased your bottle of Amaretto but you still don’t know how to make that perfect cocktail drink. First off all, you have to know Amaretto is an Italian sweet almond-flavored liqueur; it is made from a base of apricot or almond pits, or sometimes both. The root of the name Amaretto is believed to be that Italian word amaro, which means ‘bitter’, as such is the flavor lent to the liqueur by the bitter almond or the drupe kernel. To create your very special Amaretto Sour cocktail, you have to use one of the most popular brands: The Disaronno Amaretto. So let’s get going with the drink recipe below:

The Amaretto Sour cocktail recipe guide:
Ingredients
2 oz. amaretto
½ oz. fresh lemon/lime juice or sweet and sour mix
Splash of Grenadine
½ oz. Peach schnapps or orange
Ice cubes and Cherry for garnish

Preparation
Combine all the ingredients in a shaker then add crushed ice. Shake it for few seconds and strain into a small or “rocks” chilled glass with sugar rims. For the sugar rims, rub the rim of your glass with lemon and lime zest; make sure to evenly coat both inside and out and then dip the glass in bar sugar until the rim is well frosted.
