If you’re ever in West Hollywood - Los Angeles, be sure to venture to the corner of Melrose Avenue and Robertson Boulevard, where you will find the classic Italian restaurant, Cecconi’s. Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cicchetti, which is a cute name for Italian tapas, Cecconi’s is an entirely new experience in West Hollywood.

Cecconi’s began when Enzo Cecconi, the youngest general manager ever for Venice’s famous Cipriani restaurant opened Cecconi’s London in 1978. Cecconi’s London introduced many Londoners to such Italian specialties like my favorites: Bellini cocktails and tiramisu. The restaurant became an instant sensation, especially among the rich, royals, and elite of London. Cecconi’s became so popular, in fact, that one of their waiters remembers serving members of four different royal families at four different tables during lunchtime; talk about the royal treatment!

Mr Cecconi has come a long way since his first restaurant opening, and has since opened a Cecconi’s in Soho House, and now, the beautiful West Hollywood location in February 2009. Ever since it’s London beginnings, Cecconi’s has been bringing dinner guests excitement by putting the finishing touches on their dishes in front of them with that special touch of magic that only they can do.

When you’re looking for a beautiful place to have a bite, a drink, and a good time, Cecconi’s West Hollywood has many options for your delight. The restaurant is the primary dining area at Cecconi’s. With serene touches like white table cloths accented with comfy, turquoise chairs, and featuring a 25-ft long button-back sofa, all brought together by the beautiful hanging chandeliers, you’ll marvel at the beauty while enjoying your meal. The place feels open, yet intimate; classic, yet modern with that English touch! Indeed, it is a great place to enjoy one of their dinnertime specialties, such Alaskan salmon with baby artichokes and Taggiasca olives or the requisite Tiramisu for dessert (Dolci).

In the heart of the restaurant, the dominant central Cecconi’s bar (where charcuterie hangs from the ceiling) is the area where you can regale in fresh fruit cocktails and try all the great Italian tapas from the midnight menu such as baked gnocchi in butter and sage. Just typing that is making my mouth water! Brunch is probably my favorite meal of the day (well that and the midnight snack,) and there’s nothing more heavenly than brunching in the open air. Grand doors invite you from the restaurant and bar to Cecconi’s heated terrace to enjoy any meal, including brunch. Oh, to have Cecconi’s Ricotta hotcakes with apple compote and a mimosa would be the perfect Sunday afternoon!

If you prefer the exclusivity of secluded dining, then the Butterfly Room could be just for you! Named after a piece from Damien Hirst’s “Butterfly” series, featured on the south wall, the Butterfly Room is a private room that can accommodate up to 40 guests, or can be made more intimate by being enclosed with a Venetian curtain. With the option to enjoy any meal in private, the Butterfly room is definitely a great idea! What I like best about this room is that you can even dine “family-style” for parties of 15 or more, which really makes you feel like you’re gathering in your own, peaceful, dining room!

Cecconi’s definitely seems the place to see and be seen in the West Hollywood scene. Fortunately, the food is excellent. We sent guests for New Year Eve, and on different occasions there and they absolutely loved it! Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week, Cecconi’s three distinct menus stay true to its early Venetian-influenced origins.
