A dear friend of ours on a recent bespoke concierge trip by Pure in New York City, called us over the weekend with an interesting question. Our friend was on a shopping adventure and wanted some advice on a shoe store for men; he wanted to pick up the perfect pair of dress up shoes for his teenage son; obviously you understand, we are talking fine shoes of course.

We happened to recommend Leffot in New York (pronounced le-fot), a new luxury men’s shoe store located in the West Village. The store carries high-end handcrafted shoes which our friend absolutely adored judging from his call back. He was totally elated as they both took home the same pair of J.M Weston.

I have to say Leffot is a very impressive store with a unique design: shoes are lined up on a polished wooden table with nickel chandeliers and comfy white chairs and ottomans. The store really enhances your shopping experience with this setting, something that is not so common in most men’s shoes store. Indeed, Leffot carries a great selection of fine shoes, accessories, and groom kits from renowned European manufacturers like Church’s, Alden, Edward Green, Artioli, Gaziano & Girling, Aubercy, Pierre Corthay to name a few.

Steven Taffel, who opened Leffot in 2008 also offers custom made shoes for customers to their own specifications as well as, occasional trunk shows from luxury shoemakers. Leffot is a select shop for discerning men, men who are fine connoisseurs of the best classic shoes. No doubt, this store will not leave you disappointed. Every man will feel right at home; it’s definitely worth a visit.
