Fashionistas are in celebration all around the world after the announcement (two weeks ago) that British accessory brand Jimmy Choo will be designing a line for Swedish fashion retailer H&M (Hennes & Mauritz). The British luxury brand famous for its large purses, sky-high stilettos, continues to drive savvy shoe lovers crazy with unique, fashion forward designs.

“We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags,” H&M’s Creative Designer Margareta van den Bosch said, adding it was the first time the company has collaborated with an accessory brand. “I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around,” she said. Tamara Mellon co-founder and President of Jimmy Choo added “We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far”. Indeed, we remember top International designers and fashion icons who have collaborated with the Swedish fashion retailer. This includes the latest Matthew Williamson campaign, but also Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli, Viktor & Rolf, Madonna, Stella McCartney to name a few.

This collaboration should be a hot seller because Jimmy Choo shoes are normally very very expensive. I know quite a few girls who will be camping outside the H&M stores in Montreal…Aren’t you excited? Mark your calendar ladies.

The collection is set to debut Nov 14th 2009 in approximately 200 stores worldwide.
